CAPTAIN N: REIMAGINED

I had this idea for a while after watching Nostalgia Critic's review of CAPTAIN N: The Game Master ,Before I start, For those who don't know what Captain N (me included until I saw the review) it's a show about the videogame characters of Nintendo placed into a single show, you can look it up.

and so after looking up some clips of the show and seeing other reviews of the series, I came to a conclusion, the show wasn't exactly the greatest thing Nintendo put out as a cartoon.

So I looked up around DeviantArt and looked at some Captain N art and found that most of the artwork were different perspective on the show, or a revisualization, and focused on the modernization of Captain N with the same design, but in a different style. So I had this thought,

why reboot the old series with the same characters for the same show when you can make a sequel series that brings in the same cast, but in a different light and set after the events of the original? Thus "CAPTAIN N: "Reimagined" came up.

And so I hope to create a series of concept art of characters that showed up in the show and
those that didn't even show up in the original series.

So here's the first one of those concepts with Kevin Keene, the very first Gamemaster of the original team.

I wanted to make Kevin older and more mature because he would be like a mentor to a new generation. And instead of giving him just a re-stylization of his outfit, I revamped him to have an updated look that showed him as determined and fully intergrated into what he is doing. I also expanded on his backstory to fit into a new mold of a matured but strong hearted hero.

Kevin Keene was once your ordinary teen who had extraordinary skills in the gaming world, who got pulled into the world that which is VideoLand, a hub for which the universes of Nintendo characters can interact with one another without breaking the physical hold on the inter-dimension laws. Once sucked into this new world Kevin, with the original N-team managed to fight and defeat the evil Motherbrain,

Once Kevin defeated motherbrain, he departed to return to his normal life and left the world of Video land at peace.

Soon after, he matures into a brilliant and innovative inventor and became a legendary gamer at the Nintendo company, Kevin had his life set, but his celebrations would be short lived as after his return back to the human world 3 years later, his parents were killed by an out of control automatic transport.

Grieved over the lost of both his parents, he started to become more serious and protective of those he cared about.

After 2 years passed, he had loosened up a bit and was back to doing what he does best, gaming. Then one day, when he was test-fitting a nintendo gaming suit, a virtual reality portal he had worked on suddenly sparked to life and sucked him back into the world of Video games, this time he can't get out. Once sucked in, he eventually accepted his situation and became a gaming legend to both the citizens of Video land and to the gamers of the real world.

years past as video land becomes under attack again, only this time not by mother brain, but someone more powerful and dangerous. Kevin, though the gamemaster at the time, was struck down after a long hard fight, but before he was captured, he manage to disappear, and left without a trace, promising that he would return.

as a year pass, his promise becomes true as he now becomes a mentor to a new gamemaster and will fight along with the original N-team to defeat this new darkness once and for all.

So that's a little backstory for his character.

Hope you like him! ^^
